"BUSY BUSY BUSY"

I have been busy these last couple weeks taking photos for my online shop. Hope of Paper Relics is designing my web page Posies on Parade. She has been so amazing to work with. Hope is very patient and has an incredible creative eye, and I just love the work that she does. She is working on a custom homepage for me and my job was to take pictures for the different shopping categories. Well, for me this has been a major undertaking and I have taken about a million pictures. I thought maybe I would share a few with you.

The photo above is a close up of a few things I have created, posie pockets, a crown and a wand. I love to imagine what the fairies (Rosie Posies) would be wearing and how they would accessorize. Would they change out their wand to match their outfit? Would their purse (posie pocket) match their crown? Hhhmmm----I wonder.........

This photo is of some of the goodies that I use to make all my things. Aaaahhh--glorious old buttons, and jewels, vintage lace, hankies, flowers, and paper ---OH MY!
And last but not least---a fairy peeking out from behind a flower---she seems to be saying something---she is whispering, and waiting, waiting for Posies on Parade to open.
Soon my friends-----very soon!!

I'M BACK

Wow! I have been busy since Easter. Where does the time go?
My Mom went back home Tuesday, after visiting for a week. It was so great to spend time with her. We went to lunch together, shopped, read magazines, made bracelets, and enjoyed each other's company immensely. Oh, and of course the kids loved having Grandma at the house to play with! I was so sad to see her go. I will miss her terribly. I look forward to the next time, when my Dad can come as well. Thanks for everything Mom, I love you!

On the day my mom left, I went on a school field trip with these two characters! The art club raised money for a trip to the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
I loved to watch Abby and Jacob take in all the beautiful art. There were so many things to
see---

Like this---

and this-----

and that!
But, of course there wasn't time to see it all. We'll just have to make a point to go back and experience it as a whole family.
I studied many of these paintings in college, but when you see them in person, the colors, the layers upon layers of paint, the stories that are told through each piece--- it is a whole other experience! It was absolutely breathtaking!
Thank you Abby and Jacob, for sharing your day with me!

A GREAT DAY and MORE SPRING

Tuesday, I met up with my good friend Cammy at her beautiful home and was finally able to see her studio/creative space---and OH MY!!! It is absolutely beautiful and has Cammy written all over it! She still is working on a few things to finish it up, but I know in the end it will be spectacular! I look forward to playing, Cammy, when it is all done!
Then, we hopped in the car and trekked on over to The Queen's Ink to meet up with Hope of Paper Relics! We had such fun browsing for art supplies and catching up. Hope is so talented in everything she does. She shared her amazing journal with us while we ate lunch and we talked a little about my online shop she is designing for me. She is so inspiring and full of ideas. I have never started a journal yet, but I think it is time! The day flew by too fast, but we already have plans for the end of the month! Can't wait Girls! Thanks for the day!
My day ended with these delicious cookies, made by Cammy! They were oh so good!! Thanks Pal! BTW, I did have to share the rest with my family. Darn! They are always up for a scrumptious sweet!

On another note, I just had to share a few more pictures of the beauty emerging in my garden.
Notice the bee in the top photo? He was loving the plum tree we just planted in our front yard last year. And I'm loving that shade of pink!

This is a close up of the pear tree on our patio! I think it is my favorite in the garden. It looks pink in the picture, but it is really white!

And---last but not least, one of several tiny Grape Hyacinths Surrounding our patio. I love how something so small can have such beautiful detail. I'm really loving the color of the flowers with the bright green foliage in the background.
Well, I'm off to plant the rest of my Pansies. They have been waiting patiently, through the cold rainy weather we have been having the past few days. But, today has brought blue skies and warm sun!
Enjoy your Thursday!

SIGNS OF SPRING

I was outside on our patio taking pictures of these bright beauties---
trying to capture bits of Spring emerging when a heard a rustling in the pear tree above me --

and there they were, a whole flock of these glorious birds! They are Cedar Waxwings. They travel in groups, and are rarely seen alone. This particular bird feasts on wild berries but I think they were in our yard for water. We have lived here for five years and I have never seen these birds in our yard. I was just giddy with delight! But, when I moved ever so slightly, they flew away before I could snap a picture. Darn it!

I wanted to see if they would come back, so I sat very still for a while. Waiting-- listening-- watching. And guess what? They came back! I think there were at least seven or eight of them perched in the tree. I was sitting quite far from them so I really had to zoom in to get these shots.

As I sat there observing the beautiful wonders of nature, I just had to smile to myself. It is the simple things in life, that make me happy. It is amazing what you will discover when you stop, slow down in life, and just listen. I don't think I do that enough, but I will, because life is too short.
As the saying goes---stop and smell the roses, or in this case, stop and watch the birds!
Happy Friday!
